The only theater in New York that produces Shakespeare and the classics, musicals, contemporary, and experimental pieces in equal measure, The Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director; Patrick Willingham, Executive Director) serves as an advocate for the theater as an essential cultural force in leading and framing dialogue on important issues of our day. For the third consecutive year, Cirio Collective returns to the Vineyard to prepare a new work and repertoire for their Joyce Theater debut in New York City. A new musical about survival and self-realization among teenagers living on the street. Based on true stories of the authors' experiences of homelessness and punk culture, the story revolves around a 16-year old runaway who plunges headfirst into the subculture of life on the streets.
Canadian choreographer and current Artistic Director Joshua Beamish founded MOVETHECOMPANY in Vancouver 2005. His works have toured extensively in North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. In addition to being an alumni of the NY Choreographic Institute, he is also a Jerome Robbins Foundation grantee, and was a founding member, as well as the first Canadian appointee, of The Joyce Theater's Young Leaders Circle. MOVETHECOMPANY has presented 15 full-evening programs, working with over 125 dancers, plus multiple interdisciplinary collaborators from Canada, America, Australia and the UK.
